The Supremes

 

 

 

The Supremes are Mandy Hague, Marianna Bullmore and Lea-Anne Sheather.

They are a trio of talented women who have been the Supreme Award winners of the Tauranga Art Gallery Miles Art Awards.

This is a biennale award and exhibition established in memory of Venetta Miles (1913-92), who was one of the Gallery’s earliest donors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For this exhibition the artists have been invited to present the ideas and artworks occupying them since they received their awards in 2010, 2012 and 2014. 

 

Each artist, in her own way, explores the common themes of the human impact on the natural environment that includes notions of life, death, beauty, growth and decay.
