Our specialist Gallery Educators deliver a range of Learning Programmes for Primary and Secondary School students. Our ArtBus service transports students to and from the Gallery and is available for use by all schools in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty Region free of charge (conditions may apply).
Tauranga Art Gallery Learning Programmes are based on current exhibitions, and cater for the learning needs of students at all levels. Learning Programmes are created to support the Key Competencies of the NZ curriculum, and are developed and led by our specialist Gallery Educators. Our programmes are supported by the Ministry of Education’s Learning Experiences Outside The Classroom initiative (LEOTC).
When possible Year 0 - 5 classes can buddy with another class to take part in a Gallery/Library exchange programme with Tauranga City Library. To view our latest newsletter with details about current and upcoming programmes for year 0 – 8 groups, CLICK HERE
Tauranga Art Gallery Learning Programmes are adapted to the Gallery’s diverse, and regularly changing schedule of exhibitions, and can be tailored to suit individual class and NCEA subject requirements. Programmes are developed and led by our specialist Gallery Educators.
Visiting the Gallery costs $3 per student for an exhibition learning experience + practical art activity (1.5 hour session), and $2 for an exhibition learning experience only (up to 45 minutes).
The ArtBus is free of charge and available for use by all schools in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty Region. Some restrictions may apply.
