In 2011, Sydney-based artist Angela Tiatia had the chance to visit a clothing manufacting factory in Guangzhou, China.

Speaking with workers she was struck by the similarities in their stories to those of Maori and Pacific Island workers in New Zealand, many of whom migrated to the city in order to send money back to their families.
