Wayne Werder - Deputy Chair

Wayne is currently General Manager of TECT where he manages the operations, investments and grant making of the trust. He joined the TAG Board in May 2021.
Wayne has a strong background managing community and not-for-profit organisations, including a previous role as CEO of Sport Bay of Plenty. He has a Masters in Management studies from the University of Waikato, and is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
He has been living in Tauranga since 2004 with his wife Angela and their three daughters. Wayne is a passionate supporter of the community and has held numerous voluntary positions. 
Wayne says he loves to see people get engaged in the community through art and sport and the like.  Whatever their passion is, if we can help people connect and engage with others then it’s good for the whole community. The creative sector has so much to offer in this regard and plays a vitally important role in the development of a growing region like Western Bay of Plenty.
