Each year over 9,500 local children travel to the Tauranga Art Gallery where they experience a New Zealand curriculum art programme and create their own artwork. These visits are the beginning of a life-long connection with the arts. They help foster a child’s creative mind and to apply critical, innovative, and reflective thinking to all areas of their life.
Each child comes to the gallery on a free ArtBus. This service makes it affordable for schools to engage in the art programmes developed by the gallery.
