Terry Stringer: Landscape of the Head

An exhibition of work from leading New Zealand sculptor Terry Stringer graces the Gallery from April 4 - August 10.

Stringer - who was born in England but was educated and has lived in New Zealand since a young age - enjoys playing with spatial illusions and concealed meanings in his work. And the collection of work in Landscape of the Head are perfect examples of this.

His preferred medium is bronze and recent works in this exhibition are inspired by the New Zealand landscape, as well as well-known New Zealanders including artist Rita Angus and writer Katherine Mansfield.

A brand new large scale work, Love of Land of Love, has been created for this exhibition.
