Join historian Jock Phillips as he discusses New Zealand War Memorials and New Zealand Identity.

Jock Phillips is a leading New Zealand historian who is currently senior editor of Te Ara: The Encyclopaedia of New Zealand. He wrote the introduction to the book ANZAC: Photographs by Laurence Aberhart, which accompanies the Dunedin Public Art Gallery touring exhbiition of the same name, on show at Tauranga Art Gallery until 10 May. The exhibition brings together photographs of World War I memorials in New Zealand and Australia that feature a single figure or soldier.
