Whether you are new to the arts or a long-time enthusiast, join a group of like-minded individuals and families with a passion for creating exceptional art experiences.
In 2019, member contributions enabled leading NZ artist and Tauranga-born Jess Johnson’s exhibition Terminus in July 2019, as well as welcoming Canadian architect Philip Beesley in April to present a proposal for a large-scale future interactive atrium show.
Terminus by Jess Johnson(in collaboration with Simon Ward), opened in July 2019
Jess Johnson’s drawing and installation practice is influenced by science fiction, language, culture, and technology. For Tauranga Art Gallery a centerpiece of the exhibition was a series of experiential virtual reality artworks housed within bespoke structures. Terminus was commissioned by the National Gallery of Australia with support provided by The Balnaves Foundation 2017-18. www.jessjohnson.org
In 2021, member contributions will support Darcel Apelu’s exhibition 'A Death of Prosperity’ which opens in October 2021 as part of the Tauranga Arts Festival and also supported by our commissioning partner Supercut Projects.
