For $500 jump in behind an exciting Atrium exhibition. Each year people just like you support a significant project. Previous 500 Club members have funded projects by Sara Hughes (2017) and Jeanette Schäring (2018). Whether you are new to the arts or a long-time enthusiast, join a group of like-minded individuals and families with a passion for creating exceptional art experiences.
In 2019, member contributions enabled leading NZ artist and Tauranga-born Jess Johnson’s exhibition Terminus in July 2019, as well as welcoming Canadian architect Philip Beesley in April to present a proposal for a large-scale future interactive atrium show.
Terminus by Jess Johnson (in collaboration with Simon Ward), opened in July 2019
Jess Johnson’s drawing and installation practice is influenced by science fiction, language, culture and technology. For Tauranga Art Gallery a centrepiece of the exhibition was a series of experiential virtual reality artworks housed within bespoke structures.
Terminus was commissioned by the National Gallery of Australia with support provided by The Balnaves Foundation 2017-18.

Philip Beesley, potential future project
Philip is a multimedia artist and architect that creates immersive environments that blur the lines between technology and nature. Integrating artificial intelligence, robotics, sound and light, this innovative experience attracted 650,000 visitors when installed in Sydney. www.philipbeesley.com
