Collecting Nigel Brown features works from the Gallery Trust Collection.

Nigel Brown and partner Susan McLaughlin have given two substantial gifts to the Trust, one in 2007 of 44 works when the Gallery opened, and one of 39 works last year when the Gallery celebrated five years.

Born in Invercargill in 1949, Brown grew up in Tauranga and had artist Fred Graham as an art teacher at Tauranga Boys' College.

He only left Tauranga when he went to Elam, at the University of Auckland.mIn 1975 he, and family, returned briefly.
