SmartGrowth SmartTalk in partnership with Tauranga Art Gallery event: Tauranga 2030 – urban placemaking and future gazing
Background: The western Bay of Plenty is one of the fastest growing regions in NZ and we expect our population to reach 250,000 over the next 30 years. This means we’ll need about 43,000 more homes with 80% of those homes in Tauranga. Our new homes will need to meet the needs of an ageing population and address the increasing challenge of people being able to afford good housing. Some of the new homes will be provided in new housing areas while others will be redevelopments within Tauranga City.
What will these redeveloped areas within Tauranga look like? And what public spaces and amenities will be built to go with them?
Join SmartGrowth, Tauranga Art Gallery and the NZ Institute of Architects as we explore placemaking in our fast developing urban realm with an artist, innovative developer, urban planner, architect and tangata whenua development planner.
NOTE: Seating is limited, some of the tickets will be standing.
Tauranga Art Gallery would also like to thank Chartwell Trust for their support of speaker Dieneke Jansen
