You can support the Tauranga Art Gallery by becoming a volunteer. We’re looking for people who appreciate the arts and want to be part of the Gallery team.
- Learn about the workings of the gallery
- Assist with setup of events, floortalks and lectures
- Talk to and engage with the public
- Assist with arts activities such as Family Fun Days
- Hand out flyers to the public
- Direct visitors and collect feedback

Ideally, it would be someone who can assist us for 2 – 4 hours per week.
The hours of work would generally be 2.30 –4.30pm (after classes have finished) on weekdays, but we can negotiate to make it suits you and the team.
The person we are looking for will be very organised, and have good attention to detail.
Cutting of stencils, paper, fabric and other materials into specified shapes; sorting materials into bundles or containers; priming artwork surfaces and mixing paint colours; sharpening pencils; prepping clay; sewing; assisting with cleanup after the last class; cleaning containers, brushes, tables and chairs.
This volunteer position would be best suited to someone who wanted to make a meaningful contribution to support of the Gallery’s charitable endeavours with schools in the area. They will enjoy being part of the Art Gallery Team, and gaining an insight into the internal workings of the Art Gallery.
