WHAT GOES AROUND - VISUAL ART TEACHERS WORKSHOP

Workshop for Primary and Secondary Visual Art Teachers

This one day course combines a theoretical and practical component.

Visual Literacy and Literacy in the Visual Arts

Teachers will receive a unit of work that has been developed to familiarise them with art vocabulary, and assist them to analyse art works. Passing this knowledge on to students allows them to make their own interpretations of art works, which can become an effective form of literacy in the visual arts.

What Goes Around

This practical activity combines sculpture and video using ready-made or found objects. The activity is suitable for Yr4 - Yr13 levels. Participants will work together in small groups to complete the unit in the time available. Teachers will be supplied with learning outcomes, the learning sequence detailing activities and resources for teaching the unit, and an index of online resources. All materials will be supplied.
