TOP ART

TOP ART is an annual exhibition of 50 visual art folios which tour New Zealand from Kerikeri to Invercargill. Selected folios were created by senior secondary students who achieved excellence at NCEA Level 3, Visual Art in 2008.

TOP ART allows this year's Level 3 Visual Art students and teachers to see first-hand a range of high calibre art produced by their peers, and to gain an idea of what they need to aim for in order to achieve excellence themselves. The exhibition is also a chance for members of the public to see the impressive work which New Zealand students are producing.

At Level 3, Visual Art is comprised of five subjects: design, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. Students create their folios, along with a formal workbook, throughout the year with the guidance of their teachers. The folios show not only the high quality of the student's work, but also their development of ideas and techniques.
