GRANDMA McGARVEY GOES TO THE GALLERY

Bring along a gold coin and a cushion and listen to the tales and adventures of the infamous Grandma McGarvey, and other book characters, told by their visual creator, artist / illustrator Trevor Pye.


Trevor Pye is an illustrator, writer and artist who lives in Tauranga. Many will know Pye for his fame as illustrator of the Grandma McGarvey series, which has been a popular addition to children's bookshelves for two decades.

Pye has illustrated more than 200 children's books, including four books as part of the Alan Duff's 'Books in Homes' programme, plus providing numerous illustrations for The New Zealand School Journal. Pye was also the resident illustrator for the children's TV programme Here's Humphrey.

Trevor Pye is also a painter and sculptor and has exhibited paintings and drawings widely.
