Kids Art Studio
The Gallery offers practical art workshops throughout the school term and school holidays for a variety of age group as part of our Education programme.
The workshops will be related to the current Gallery exhibitions.
Bookings are essential, and numbers limited; children need to wear older clothing / art shirt as we do not provide protective clothing. There is a small charge to cover the cost of materials.
If you have booked your child into a class but can no longer attend, please advise us as soon as possible.
February Programme
The House that James Built. 9 – 11 yr olds
Buildings and
structures will be drawn using two-point perspective. A variety of media will be explored to complete the
picture. Based on the exhibition The House that James Built.
Sunday 28 February 11.00 -12.30pm.

March Programme
The House the James
Built. 6 – 8 yr olds
Based on the exhibition, buildings and structures will be the theme for a fun mixed
media activity.
Sunday 7 March. 11.00am -12.30pm. Cost $7.00
Based on the exhibition, Hawaiiki. Using dyes, washes, and fabrics, the children will create a non-representational work influenced by Nigel Borell’s exhibition.
Sunday 14 March. 11.00am -12.30pm. Cost $7.00
Throw Up. 6 – 8 yr olds
Based on the exhibition, Throw Up. A fun 3D sculpture inspired by Judy Darragh’s work in the atrium.

Please notify us asap if you are booked in, but are unable to attend.
Bookings can only be secured by paying in advance. Unpaid bookings do not guarantee a place in the class. A pre-paid booking will have priority over an unpaid booking, and can replace it on the booking sheet. Paid bookings can be made over the phone using your Visa, by posting a cheque, or making your payment at Gallery reception.
