Programmes
Tauranga Art Galleryoffers a range of educational programmes that aim to enchant, inspire, and educate students of all ages.
Our education staff will tailor class programmes to make use of the current exhibitions, aligning them with curriculum outcomes across a range of subjects.
Our team is available to give an introductory talk on the education programme at your staff meeting. Contact Grant Thompson grant.t@artgallery.org.nz to discuss a suitable time.

Gallery – based programme
We select work from current exhibitions that are appropriate for the age group and suit the learning outcomes that have been agreed upon with the teacher.
Gallery and practical activity
This combines Gallery viewing with a practical activity that relates to the work seen on the tour. There is a minimum charge of 50 cents per student to cover the cost of materials. Pre- and post-visit activities will be available on the website.
Bookings for school visits are essential. Contact Amy McFetridge amy.m@artgallery.org.nz
Exhibition Reviews
Previewing exhibitions and discussing with Gallery staff the possible learning outcomes before your class visits the Gallery, provides you with valuable information to plan your class programme around.
It is important to advise the Education Manager of the focus of your visit, so learning goals can be shared and educational experiences extended.
Exhibition review dates for 2009: Last Wednesday of every term, 4pm - 5pm
