This exhibition shows a small selection of the Edward Bullmore (1933 - 1978) artworks gifted to the Tauranga Art Gallery in 2006 by his widow, Jacqueline Bullmore.

Herakles (Hercules), better known as a hero of ancient Greek myth, is cast in this exhibition as a New Zealand pioneer attempting to tame the land. The exhibition is made up of a series of lithographs and etchings by Christchurch print maker Marian Maguire.
Etching became a major medium for picture-making in the Netherlands during the 17th century, the 'golden age' of Dutch art. Rembrandt was the undoubted master of etching, and he fully explored the possibilities of the demanding medium. This exhibition contains ten of his masterful etchings.
